Well, what a treat! A major snowstorm descended upon us overnight. It began at about 6:30 P.M. and continued on through the night. Before it was over we had nearly 20" on the ground. It was a gentle snow, so no drifting or blowing to distort the total accumulation. The serious aspect of the storm is that both Westmoreland and Allegheny counties are under a State of Emergency. I've never been under an official State of Emergency; however, I'm pretty sure I've have been under some personal States of Emergency. But this one is official. No vehicles are allowed on the highways. OK, continuing on, we got up this morning, put on our XC ski equipment and took a little tour of the town. The picture of our skis is outside of Abigails where we stopped for coffee. We couldn't belive they were open! It was beautiful and here are a few of the pictures. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for the pictures. We got 22 inches at our place and haven't dug out yet. We have everything we need and are enjoying the beauty of all this snow. Looks like you might be skiing around town for awhile yet. Chris and Gayle Hill
